I would wait until 7-8. But really depends on how comfortable you are with the game. Gets a bit harder post ascalon.

With a warrior, you'll probably find most of the early content fairly easy (and a lot of the end content more difficult, depending on your setup). So, if you wanted to leave earlier you'd probably be ok. That being said, I usually recommend new players stick around til level 8 or higher, just because the charr in post-searing can be pretty tough for new players (especially if you lack good equipment and skills).

The higher the better,
I second the previous suggestions of level 8 or higher.

Higher would actually be even better, it's not difficult to reach 12 or 13 and would make getting through the early missions easier since you are unlikely to find groups

i usually stayed until level 6-7 with a warrior about 6 is enough,
you should be able to handle the early areas just make sure you do as many side quests as possible.
Welcome to guildwars too!

If you reach level 10, consider staying just a bit longer and try out the daily Vanguard quests. Level 8-9 can be a bit slow if you already accepted most quest rewards though.

If you wanna stay til 10, take into account that the only way to go from 8 to 10 is with foes over the gate or by farming a single quest.

Generally people recommend that you stay in pre until lvl 7-8 with your first character. But keep in mind that pre is only a very small area of the game, and if you lack things to do I suggest you move into post.

The henchmen are lvl 4 @ ascalon in post, so anything above lvl 4 should suffice, though it's much easier if you stay to the recommended lvl7-8. Do not forget to upgrade your armor as soon as you come to post though. You'll have a hard time with armor not on par.

tl;dr stay as long as you find it enjoyable!

I think the general feeling for first timers is leave at lvl 8 - makes the foes in post sear a lil easier when theres only a +2 / -2 lvl difference .After a few prophs chrs players will generally leave asap - lvl 2 or 3 but thats not recomended for new players.

Also remember that max level is 20... level 8 is good.
